Which threads to use part 3 – and I’m off
And i’m off… I’ve finally managed to ‘bobbinate’ all the threads and start stitching.I gridded the fabric as I’m great at miscounting! First time gridding so fingers crossed it’ll help! Also my first time parking too so hopefully I won’t get to muddled. So far so good but it’s only been 6 different colours! I’m also railroading to try and keep it neat.
I love the way the CXC feels so soft in the hand and covers really well. I’m stitching 2 stands over 1 hooked on 18ct. I had no idea, however, that my eyesight is worse than when I was 20 🤣. 18ct is small. Luckily I have my magnifying glass light. It’s been indispensable in the evenings. I changed from the roll frame to a hoop partly because my chair reclines and the frame was a bit too far away but mostly because Monty can’t sit on the hoop
Pattern Keeper app
I’m also giving Pattern keeper app a go (available on Google play for Android devices). I thought it wouldn’t be so good but….
…the pattern imports great and after assigning colour numbers to the symbols it’s a game changer for me. You can zoom in and out. It gives you your Stitch count for the day and the percentage of the pattern completed. You can even frog and mark the parked threads. I recommend it to anyone who hasn’t tried it yet (and has an Android!)
So onwards and upwards. Hopefully I’ll finish this piece before Christmas…2023🤣
Thanks for reading which threads to use part 3
